Our First Look at the SnüzPod 5 - A Beautiful Upgrade on a Trusted Favourite

We recently received the new SnüzPod 5 in the walnut finish and couldn’t be more excited to use it with our next baby. Having used the SnüzPod 4 with our daughter Elsie and absolutely loved it, we were really curious to see how the newest version compares, and the updates do not disappoint.

While we haven’t yet used it with a baby, we’ve fully set it up and had a chance to explore all the new features, and we’re so impressed with the thoughtful improvements.

First Impressions

The walnut finish is absolutely beautiful, elegant and warm without being overly “babyish”. It looks more like a piece of designer furniture than a nursery item and fits seamlessly beside the bed. The quality of the materials and attention to detail is exactly what you’d expect from Snüz, and it instantly feels like a safe, cosy space for a newborn.

Key Improvements We Noticed

1. More Room Inside
The SnüzPod 5 is around 17% larger internally than the Pod 4. Even just looking at it side by side, the extra space is noticeable. Our daughter Elsie grew out of the Pod 4 just as she started rolling, and the additional room in the Pod 5 gives us a bit more breathing space before needing to transition. It's the kind of change that makes a real difference for those early months.

2. Dual Mesh Sides
One of the standout upgrades is the dual mesh panels. The Pod 4 only had mesh on one side, but now both sides offer breathability and visibility. It’s a small change, but makes the bassinet feel more open and will give us even more peace of mind during those night-time peeks.

3. Now with Wheels!
This one we’re especially excited about. The new design includes lockable castor wheels, making it so much easier to move the bassinet between rooms. The frame is also a bit lighter than the previous model, so we know it’ll be much simpler to reposition it throughout the day if needed. For us, that’s a huge plus.

4. Easier Bedside Setup
The SnüzPod 4’s zip-down side was one of our favourite features, and it’s still here but now even easier to use. With the 5, you can switch between standalone and bedside mode without removing the support bars. It’s a clever tweak that removes one of the fiddlier bits of the previous version.

5. Wider Height Range
The adjustable height now reaches up to 70.5cm, giving more flexibility to match the height of different adult beds. It’s a thoughtful improvement that makes this version more adaptable to a variety of sleeping setups.

Everything We Loved Is Still Here

The breathable liner, gentle rocking motion, sturdy frame, and sleek design are all still part of what makes the SnüzPod such a standout. It’s one of the main products we used the first time around that we would genuinely buy again, and knowing this newer version improves on something we already loved makes us feel even more confident going into round two.

Final Thoughts

Even though we haven’t used the SnüzPod 5 with a newborn yet, we know from experience that this is a product you end up using every single day in those early months, and the updates Snüz has made show they’ve really listened to what parents want.

If the SnüzPod 4 made those early nights easier, the Pod 5 feels like it’s going to make them even better.
