Great reasons to breastfeed

  • Breastmilk is the perfect food for your baby
  • Breastmilk provides your baby with all that is needed for healthy growth and development
  • Breastmilk is designed specifically to meet all your baby’s nutritional needs for the first six months of life and provides protection against some infections
  • The ideal time to introduce your baby to other foods is around six months of age, but it is still recommended you continue to breastfeed until the baby is about one year of age or longer
  • Breastfeeding provides a means for you and your baby to get to know each other
  • Breastmilk prevents constipation, no smell or staining of clothes with spilling
