Sleep

Your baby may have settled into a regular sleep pattern. This may change when she is teething or unwell, times when she will want extra cuddles and drinks.

Once she is well again try to settle her back into an acceptable routine. Babies differ in the amount of sleep they need, but from 6 months 11 hours at night is quite usual with a couple of naps during the day.

Around 7 months onwards she may roll onto her tummy to sleep. The risk of cot death is considerably reduced at this time.

Babies develop quickly!  Parents Centres run a range of early parenting programmes, including ‘Moving and Munching’ which explores your baby’s first foods and developmental stages. Visit their website to enquire about a programme running at a Centre near you.  http://www.parentscentre.org.nz/
